Crypto has been adopted nearly worldwide for payments already, and the fact that it's still $3k USD says a lot about the demand. There is literally no other currency worth $3k, period. That said, it's extremely unlikely it'll just disappear. The anonymity factor is too competitive despite the volatility of the currency.
