This is still a bit of a peeve of mine.. in the Rock-Paper-Scissors (RPS) game, the "Bet" column always incorrectly states "10 Credits"...

I actually made this same suggestion about a year ago but I only noticed today that it got denied with the following explanation, so I don't think I explained it coherently enough:

You bet 10. You lose. You not only lose the 10 you bet, but you also lose the potential of winning 10!

I know where you're coming from and it's kinda weird, but definitely not that big of a deal.

That's not how the Rock-Paper-Scissors game functions though, nor is that how profit/loss calculations work...in the case of RPS, you are, in fact, actually betting 20 credits.

More accurately, assuming you start off with 100 credits, it works like:

Quote:You bet 20 (bringing you down to 80). You win. You get back 40. Final balance: 120 credits[Profit: 20 credits]

You bet 20 (bringing you down to 80). You lose. You get back nothing. Final balance: 80 credits [Profit: -20 credits]

The Bet amount and the Profit/Loss amount absolutely must be the same value for the table to make mathematical sense (if the bet amount was 10, then the Profit/Loss column would be wrong, because "losing the potential of winning" more money isn't a 'loss' of that money, nor is getting your principal investment back considered 'profit'.. Profit/Loss is always calculated asValue minus Principal.)

I just don't think that correcting a violation of basic math should get denied... even just removing the "Bet" column altogether would be fine by me since it's easy enough to deduce.

(I will totally agree that it's not a big deal, I think it just bugs me coming from a statistics background :lmao: )

Cheers!
