I ran some simulations at both 20 credits per bet and 10 credits per bet (1000 apiece) to see what might be required to achieve the "Gambler" award..

1000 SIMULATIONS @ 20 CREDITS PER BET

(Google Docs spreadsheet containing simulation results)

Average number of rounds required to reach 1k credits profit (and achieve award):
  • Average (mean): 911,135 rounds
  • Median: 9,504 rounds

Highest number of rounds played to reach 1k credits profit (and achieve award):
  1. 232,506,197 (ID #0649)
  2. 107,098,899 (ID #0912)
  3. 84,303,621 (ID #0507)
  4. 68,940,312 (ID #0242)
  5. 67,242,888 (ID #0476)

Fewest number of rounds played to reach 1k credits profit (and achieve award):
  1. 291 (ID #0337)
  2. 362 (ID #0003)
  3. 372 (ID #0179)
  4. 395 (ID #0854)
  5. 411 (ID #0827)

Largest losses reached before eventually reaching 1k credits profit:
  1. -531,360 credits (ID #0649)
  2. -271,680 credits (ID #0912)
  3. -184,980 credits (ID #0476)
  4. -172,320 credits (ID #0507)
  5. -151,900 credits (ID #0242)

Other:
  • 57/1000 (5.7%) took less than 1000 total rounds to reach 1k profit
  • 490/1000 (49.0%) took more than 10,000 total rounds played to reach 1k profit
  • 157/1000 (15.7%) took more than 100,000 total rounds played to reach 1k profit
  • 51/1000 (5.1%) took more than 1 million total rounds played to reach 1k profit
  • 21/1000 (2.1%) took more than 5 million total rounds played to reach 1k profit
  • 13/1000 (1.3%) took more than 10 million total rounds played to reach 1k profit
  • 169/1000 (16.9%) attained losses of more than -5k credits before reaching 1k profit
  • 89/1000 (8.9%) attained losses of more than -10k credits before reaching 1k profit
  • 18/1000 (1.8%) attained losses of more than -50k credits before reaching 1k profit
  • 7/1000 (0.7%) attained losses of more than -100k credits before reaching 1k profit
  • 485/1000 (48.5%) attained losses of less than -1k credits before reaching 1k profit
  • 23/1000 (2.3%) never went into the negative at all before reaching 1k profit

Pretty rough haha. My vote would be to keep it at 20 (or better yet, allow users to choose how much to bet perhaps in the range of 5-200 credits seeing as that's how gambling typically works and it would make success potentially attainable for the poor bastards on the path of needing hundreds of millions of rounds lol).

Life is like a box of chocolates, it doesn't last as long for fat people.
