What happened to apex legends ? I thought that game was gonna pop

The fact is that Apex is not a game with a lot of new content coming regulary, instead of Fortnite for exemple, where you can find a lot of updates (i'm not talking it's better, but for the youngs it's necessary).
Maybe when the next champion will go out, there will be a super hype ?
(Btw, I got fun playing Pathfinder in this game but now it's like evertume the same, I'm waiting a new champ with interesting mechanics !)
