I actually had a close friend who was dating a girl who was 8 years younger than him, she was 17 at the time and he was 25. He ignored my warnings and went out with her. At the time the girl thought it was cool and she was happy but as she grew up she started realizing I guess how wrong and disgusting he was to even ask her out. She dumped him for that reason too because she kept hearing from her friends that he was a pedophile for what he did.
