Neither, the Chicken evovled from a different species and following that back you will end up with a single celled organism living in the ocean so there was something completly different before both of them.
If you want to talk about when chicken were evolved then an Egg, the first Chicken hatched out of an egg from a chicken like species that isn't what we would call a chicken nowadays.
