Chicken or the egg

It depends, when asked what came first, whether chicken or the chicken egg, then the chicken was there first. However, if no chicken egg is meant, then the egg was there first.
Declaration: The chicken hatched from an egg BUT it was not a chicken egg. Something else similar to an chicken has laid an egg, from which the first chicken originated and that has laid the first chicken egg.
