He was just the straw that broke the camels back. It didn't matter what he did. slavery and racism is simply a huge part of the united states and most people are sick of it. Anyone that doesn't want to acknowledge institutional racism is ignorant or insecure and they've had the privilege of not being treated like a 3rd class citizen.
