Introduction
Hi all,

There are a ton of game modes available in the Garrys Mod Workshop, but I think the most fun one is Prop Hunt. Essentially, Prop Hunt is hide-and-seek with a twist: the hiders can imitate inanimate objects to better blend in with their environment!
Playing a Game
First, youll need to own Garrys Mod and subscribe to the Prop Hunt Addon. I recommend this one

To join a game: from the Garrys Mod main menu, just click on Join Multiplayer Game, then Prop Hunt, and youll be presented with a list of servers running that game mode.

To create a game: change your game mode to Prop Hunt (click on Sandbox in the bottom right hand corner of the main menu), then Start New Game. You've got to do it in that order. If you need help with playing games with your friends, check out my guide here.
Controls
Default controls are:

W, A, S, D: movement forward, back, left, and right
Ctrl: crouch
Space: jump
Space + Ctrl: jump and crouch (useful for getting over obstacles)
Mouse: look around / change facing
Left Mouse Button: use the weapon in your hand (or throw the prop in your hand)
E: pick up or drop prop, become prop
Ctrl+E: pick up object without becoming it
F: flashlight
F1: Game Menu
F2: Team Change Menu
F3: Taunt
How to Prop
As a player prop, you begin the round as Dr. Kleiner (aka Old Man aka T-Pose). You get a head start to go hide while the hunters are blindfolded. A prop is anything on the map that is not a part of the map itself (so tables and chairs are usually props, while doors and walls are not). Keep in mind that not all props let you copy them, it depends on the map.

When you find a prop that you want to become a copy of, you press E. This picks up the prop if its small enough, and makes you look like the prop. Setting the prop back down undisturbed is harder than it sounds, sometimes impossible.

If you just want to pick up a prop without becoming a copy of it, use Ctrl+E.

Something to note: when you are a prop, it looks to you like youre turning when you look around. However, when a player becomes a prop, they are always upright, and always remain facing the same direction from everyone else's perspective.

The smaller the prop, the harder you might be to spot, but the less health you have.

Finally, be careful looking around when hunters are nearby. A bug in Prop Hunt is that if you move the mouse around when a hunter is looking right at you, they can sometimes see your player name briefly.
How to Hunt
After the player props have had half a minute to hide themselves, the blindfolds are removed from the hunters, and the hunt is on!

Look for disturbed props (knocked over chairs, broken bottles, etc).

Note that you cannot pick up players hiding as props, so picking up objects is one way to figure out which props are ?uninhabited. Player props also cannot be knocked over or pushed around, although a clever player prop will move with you when you try to push them. If you play the same map a few times, you might start to learn the positions and numbers of the maps props, which will help you spot things that are out of place.

An important thing to keep in mind is that, as a hunter, you cannot just attack props willy-nilly. You lose health every time you attack an ?uninhabited prop, so only do that sparingly. On the other hand, if you shoot a prop and you dont lose any health, you know that either its not a prop (just part of the map) or that its a player!
