If you can deal with higher prices and/or slower processors then go for a laptop (it's convenient if you travel a lot). But if you want to do it professional then you should obviously go for a desktop. I personally use both. I use my laptop at school and my pc at home. But then I'm just doing something that doesn't take a lot of cpu usage on my laptops and do the 3d stuff, etc on my pc.
