It is very heavy on lore, story, and world building, but still I consider uite accessible (though you may want to look at guides and such if you are into getting 100% full completion). Additionally, the series' original developers are making a spiritual successor called Eiyuden Chronicle, tentatively planned for release this year, so playing this might help you understand the expectations and hype surrounding that game.
