Please explain like I'm a total noob and you are asked to teach a brand newbie all about credits and XP Boosts.

xp (experience) is what you get each time you post. it raises your level as you accumulate it.
you can see what level you are by looking at your profile, as well as your postbit (under your avatar when you post). it currently has no purpose other than being a fun thing you can brag about.

to get xp boosts you have to buy them in the shop with credits. you also get credits via posting; 1 per post, 2 per normal thread and 8 if you post a leak thread (people have to pay 8 credits to unlock them, the 8 credits get transferred to you).

to use the xp boosts, you have to access your inventory tab (here). if you bought any, you'll see the option to activate it there (example).
