New card, new oppurtunities, need advice

on laptop i have nvidia 1gb which for me works too good
and on desktop i got amd 2gb card which is infact cheaper than the laptop one but i played all new games full res and it gives me perfect results even while purchasing i read the reviews that it is not meant for heavy games but every game advancewarfare assassins creed rogue and diff ones are on max res and the results are amazing.
