Discord: I don't agree. Two seperate things and not really compareable. I don't see how it affects activity so much.

Many members are in discord. They use discord more than the forum itself. Discord is more convenient so why bother use the forum? It's like when people wanted a chatbox, it would have undermined the need to make threads and communicate using posts.

Quote:Groups: I'd not say there are a lot of groups. There are just a lot of shit groups. Group owners simply set up an application thread, let me change the userbars and subforums a hundred times for the same result: getting inactive. After they went through the same pattern over and over again, group owners don't do shit. They always plan to do X and X, but in the end, nothing actually gets done.

What I also dislike about owners is, that every group owner pretty much accepts everyone who applies. I mean sure, we don't have that huge activity, but how do you want to make something special with value when everyone gets in so easily?

I don't even care in the slightest about groups anymore. I mean, just imagine being in my position. Taking time to change their whole group around for the same result. Would you bother? I don't think so.
I also planned and started developing a group control panel, but I dumped it since it's not worth my time to be honest.

I feel like it isn't the group owners or leaders fault. Activity does play a big part, but more specifically, members aren't playing their part applying. It seems people don't have a strong enough passion or drive to even put in hard work into an application. That's why people go apply to lounge groups because hey, it's easier. My group is very hard to get in. I've only received one application, and even that application quality wasn't good enough. When Vector was in danger of being removed, I had to scout for potential users and jumpstart the group's activity since waiting wasn't going to cut it. I don't know about the other groups, but in my situation, it's not that my group is boring or isn't popular. I've had many people tell me they were going to apply and they want in, etc. They just *poof* disappeared.

If you say the groups are shit, why have a pile of shit when you can have a couple turds. Easier to clean up, no clutter, brings more value to the group section if we keep non lounge based groups that actually require a good app.
