What ever happened to Clash of Clans

Back when I was in middle school me and my friends played clash of clans. Along with some other kids from our school. We all played with eachother and donated troops. I'm in highschool now and when looking at the game now it feels like something entirely different. Not just the attack strats, everything is different. Clan games, Builder Bases, its just crazy how the game is now. I might as well mention that no one in my highschool plays clash of clans, and my middle school friends also quit the game.
