Yes, it is definitely worth to learn an programming language to hunt for a job. Participate in event like hackathon or do some real time projects. This will help you to showcase what you learned.
There are lots of programming language which are widely used. To begin with, learn just one of the programming language in depth. It can be either .Net or Java or Typescript or whatever you name it. There are tons of resources available in the market to learn. All you need is dedication to learn and become an expert in that.
