Companies like PayPal, Stripe, and 2Checkout offer these services because most companies don't have their own software to process payments. I would definitely recommend sticking to a 3rd party, and reading into the documentation and usage of each one to see what they do and don't allow. I've known a couple people who have gotten in trouble for selling prohibited items through Stripe and PayPal without knowing they were prohibited.
