So the thing i need help with is that im not to good with pc's and what you can put in what. Like because of all the ddr1 ddr 2 ddr 3 so on... Long story short what processor would i be able to put in my pc?
My current spec's are: Intel core i5 -2300 2.80GHz nvidia geforce 750ti - 4GB 8gb ddr 3 fuck knows what motherboard all i know its analienware what is about 5 or 6 years old.
So i wanted to upgrade my cpu but not sure what to get or what will fit in? Also any pointers on fixing this or maybe get some parts cheaper for this pc it lags quite a bit on games. Not all the time tho?
Thanks in advanced for anyone that helps and give's me pointers.
If you got an alienware it will have a cheap low wattage powersupply since they arent really designed for expanding. I would be selling that system instead of upgrading it. It wont be worth your money after you replace the motherboard, cpu, powersupply and potentially case since they generally use some weird PSU configuration.
You really can't do much upgrading with the motherboard you have. As getting higher tier CPUs usually require to have ddr4 ram. Which your motherboard doesn't support
Sorry everyone i fell a sleep last night and im not sure of the the power supply and confused shall i just buy a new pc or upgrade the power supply ? and then upgrade everything else

You're best off purchasing a 960, going higher with your current CPU will improve chances of bottlenecking. A 960 can go for around $120 due to the new RTX series. I'd also advise getting an SSD since your CPU isn't really going to help much.
Not to mention, the silly goon who said go with a 1060 on LGA1155 is a retard.
Edit: If you want to do a new build, send me a PM and I can sort a list out for you.
