Advice Needed Backdoors in Social Network scripts

Hey guys! I've heard this a lot that social network scripts such as wowonder or sngine, they have a "backdoor" from which script owners can mess up your website if you've installed a pirated version of the script. so my question is, how to make sure a script doesn't have a backdoor and if has how to find it and remove it.
