You could try LabyMod or 5zigMod
I use LabyMod, I think that's better

If you're using 1.15+, you can try Sodium. Its runs minecraft even better than optifine and gives some graphical improvements (lightning underwater is now smooth, in vanilla and optifine its not.)

There's only couple cons with this:
You cannot run shaders
There's no built in zoom support

uhm sodium, phosphor, litithum those mods are good, its increase fps very good. even though those mods are in fabric.

u could try labymod, currently i use lunar client, but labymod is a good client

i just stick with optifine its old reliable for me so ive not explored other options as of yet but i might in the future

you can try labymod, it's efficient like optifine. I prefer the second one.

Labymod is really awesome, it's pretty good alternative to optifine imo
