Any atheists here?

I'm kind of interested if there are any fellow atheists here, I think there are though. I'm an atheist myself (ironic, Deus) but I used to believe -about 3 years ago.I never really "believed", my family just kind of hypnotized me into islam, LOL. Glad I've come to realize that I'm actually an atheist.

I think that the majority of the users here are atheists. So many things about religion don't make sense to me, and it seems like no religious person can answer things about Christianity that bug me. My family believes in god but they are close to clueless about religion and have tried brainwashing me with it since my birth. Even now when I tell them that I'm an atheist they get upset and say "don't be silly of course you believe in god". My Christianity teacher just says "if you have nothing to look forward to then what do you live for anyway" whenever I would question things written in the bible. I don't know much about your religion but Christianity is literally a fairy tale:
-Burning bush that talks
- Splitting water in half so you can get to the other side
- Some dude dying and then coming back to life, oh and he died for every person alive


I don't mean to offend anyone, I respect people of all religions, even if their beliefs seem stupid to me. This is just my short opinion about religion.

I do and don't have a stance. I sometimes like to believe that life has a meaning, god exists and the world is a magical place. Sometimes I wonder if the things in the bible are even semi-possible.

Same, exactly the same. I don't mean to offend any muslim now, but the Quran tells stories about a prophet marrying a 9 year old or something. The Quran advises men to beat their wives if they don't obey them. The Quran says to fight non-believers. When I read all that and just think about it, I'm glad I'm no longer part of that. And truly, I believe we're alone in this universe. No god, no spirits, demons, ghosts, nothing. Sure, there can be life on other planets in this enormous universe, but those aren't fairies or evil spirits and stuff lmao. I'm not gonna be all too hard on 'proof', because after all, it's a religion, people choose to believe it. I just can't understand why you'd think there's a natural force above all of us that built this planet in a week.

Agnostic, the existing religions dont make sense to me.

I am, my parents for years keep shoving religion down my throat which I've always hated my entire life. But it isn't the fact that they shove it down my throat, I realized that none of it makes sense. I'm not gonna drop hate on people who are religious cause I'm not really about like converting other people to atheism or bringing others down.

Well, my family and I is agnostic, we don't really "care" much about it. It really doesn't matter to us.

That's not a bad thing. As for me, I find religions interesting, I just don't believe in them. Like fairytales. People love Harry Potter, but no one actually believes in his magic.

Some people are really obsessed with finding the "meaning of life" (religions) but I always think, we don't owe the universe an answer. We don't owe anyone an answer, why should we spend a lifetime searching for it? I think that's a bit agnostic, isn't it.

My father has since a few years said that he's also not a muslim anymore, but still believes that there's some kind of god. (= spiritual). My brother is the same.You wouldn't believe my surprised face when they he told me that ^^

I used to be christian until I found the internet, never even looked back. It's really awkward when other people talk about religion, especially since my entire family is christian.

I am more interested to know if anyone is religious here and if so what are their reasons for being so
