You all know apps are now everywhere. I understood they as a native way for smartphones to offer simplified and adaptative functions that were not available for webpages without using flah in the HTML4 era. But now with HTML5 CSS and JS I would seem that websites would regain a place using responsive design, beimg usable by all kind of people in all kind of devices. Well things are not working that way.
We see android and ios are pulling their strings to force companies and IT web professionals to develop apps instead of webpages. Of couse this strategy is not at it's deployment peak and we'll see how Apps will be prefered to websites in google searches and the mass declines web usage. With that movement only two or three major companies will have nearly 99% control (via their Apps store policy) of what can be published and in what terms.
It's not like I do not like Apps but I have concerns about their universality and standarization. We're moving from a relative freedom for publishing to a very restrictive corporate censorship environment.
