Belgium has declared loot boxes as a form of gambling, and will begin the push to have them banned in Europe.

I wonder if this means less games with loot boxes or less games going to Europe.

It makes sense if you think about it loot boxes are kind of gambling. You can win money back or loose it all. But it doesn't make sense for some games like overwatch where you cant sell what you get.

Wow, lol - too bad for anyone in Belgium. Kind of annoying when this happens. I remember China use to have a total BAN on gaming !

I Agree lootboxes should be limited, but a total ban on them is kinda stupid and is going to hurt a lot of gamers in Belgium :/

Oh well not that I was using any loot boxes or something.

Lol wtf loot boxes as gambling pff no way those things have pre determined stuff but there is a little bit of customization in things that you can get.

well the battlefront 2 disaster caused a gigantic uproar, ill be interessted to see how it will turn out in the end.
if this gets through court, it would mean that every game including lootboxes would be 18+ rated and still have warnings about gambling addiction on the packaging, certainly creating a bad image for the entire thing ...

Why the hell do you even need loot boxes? They're trash and work like the slots in casinos.
