Gentoo > Void > LFS/DSL > Debian netinst w/o proprietary drivers and full libreboot

Definitly depends on the usecase and what you have experience with.

If you want to run something where you want commercial support -> Ubuntu / RedHat
If its just for some playing around with it, you could always look at arch

And if you want something user friendly (for someone who never worked with linux before) to replace a windows desktop with, you can look at Zorin OS / Elementary OS / Mint
