according to the news livescience.com reported that covid-19 hits smokers harder. Why? Is it true?
What do you think?

Yes it is true, the explanation is the smoke(nicotine) decreases the local immunity of the lungs and also paralyse the cilia cells involved in cleaning the bronchus.Respiratory capacity is also reduced to these people.

It also depends on how long you have been somoking. People who have been smoking for 20 years have a way bigger chance of getting a lung disease than people who only smoke one or twice a week

I think this is true, smoking always harms your health, and not only for the lungs, but also a decrease in overall immunity :/
