I did CompSci, but now, as an IT admin, I kind of wish I'd done something I'd have enjoyed more like English, History, Writing, something else, and worked at the campus's IT dept and got a few certs before graduating. Certs help you get through resume scanners, and the experience is more than enough. I learned nothing in college that benefits my job, except that I do some really light scripting from time to time. But that's not a skill that takes 4-years to learn.
But what I think would have helped me would have been to take a few 101-type courses in different disciplines.
