How to create HQ tutorials

This is a tutorial on how to create a tutorial!
Some people aren't interested in this for multiple reasons,
but this is for those who want to learn to write HQ tutorials.
Tutorials that get people to NOTICE the thread and learn Important things!

BB Code is IMPORTANT
Learn your BB codes and markups!
Here is a list of examples of BB codes you want to use in all your tutorials:
Code:
[align=center][/align]
[align=right][/align]
[color=#hex][/color]
[size=large][/size]
[size=x-large][/size]
[size=xx-large][/size]
[b][/b]
[i][/i]
[list][*][/list]
[img]url.png[/img]

Let's say we are trying to split 2 different sections.
We want to use a splitter like the one we use at curiosity.
Code:
[img]http://imgur.com/dfACRMx.png[/img]

the HR tag could work as well.
Code:
[hr]

After that you probably want to have some subtitle header and perhaps color it as well!
Code:
[size=large][color=#26A65B]Header Name[/color][/size]
What color to select? http://www.flatuicolorpicker.com/
Try using that website and mess around with it, test what looks nice.

split

Images can be good to explain something complicated, so don't be afraid to use them!
Be sure to explain what happens in the image.
Don't make image too large!
Does it have to be large or is it a screenshot? Be sure to use spoilers!!

[spoiler=spoilername]
  • Awesome
  • Awesome
  • Awesome
[/spoiler]

The above spoiler uses this code:
Code:
[spoiler=spoilername]
[list]
[*] Awesome
[*] Awesome
[*] Awesome
[/list]
[/spoiler]

Why use [b][/b]?
[b][/b] is something you want to use to make certain words POP out.
In combination with colors you can make an entire paragraph of text easy to read through.
it's also important to keep spacing in mind, but we'll cover that a bit later.

Why use [i][/i]?
[i][/i] is something you want to use to make entire sentences pop out.
You can use this when pasting quotes for example:
"I hate quotations. Tell me what you know."
-Some Person

I don't use this much personally but you might find nice uses for this.
So when you see a chance to use it, try using it!
Also, learn to use correct spacing and paragraphing,
I automatically justify my text, this way it won't result in a giant mess.

Grammar & Spelling
There are a whole bunch of things to keep in mind when creating a tutorial.
One of these is an easy one. Grammar. Stupid as it might sound,
without grammar, your readers will have no clue what you're on about.
So try to use your bestest english for them and if need be,
have someone read it before you post it.

Content & Readers
It's important how you bring what you want to teach.
Be sure to explain every single detail you know in a way that's understandable.
Even to those that don't have a lot of knowledge about it.
If it really is that hard, perhaps write another section to explain the beginning,
Or write another tutorial, post that and refer to it in the other one.

Keeping this in mind, use BB code to make sure it's easy to understand.
if you have any questions or additions on this, PM me and let me know!

Basic stuff but some people make tutorials with no headings which is annoying.
Please read the award requirements here before applying for them.

There we are, the HQ stuff. I like it when topics are HQ, it's more fun to read.
