[DEBATE] Should marijuana be legal?

PROS

1. Marijuana can be effective in the treatment of nausea and vomiting, so in countries where it has been legalized, it is often prescribed to patients suffering from eating disorders, such as anorexia, bulimia or cachexia.

2. Clinical trials have shown a beneficial effect in the treatment of pain, especially in people with motor disorders of the nervous system, caused by diseases such as multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injuries.

3. These analgesic properties have also been indicated for patients with damage to the brachial plexus, HIV infections, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, dysmenorrhea, chronic intestinal inflammation and neuralgia.

4. Among other diseases to which marijuana could offer a therapeutic benefit, are Tourette Syndrome, asthma, glaucoma, epilepsy, Alzheimer's, and other autoimmune, inflammatory and allergic diseases.

CONS

1. Among the negative consequences of marijuana use would be the deterioration of short-term memory, attention, judgment, coordination, balance and other cognitive functions.

2. In addition, during the intoxication could be an increase in heart rate, very negative for the heart. There is also the possibility that psychotic episodes occur in the consumer after having consumed the drug.

3. Marijuana could also impair long-term memory and learning skills. If consumed frequently, it could generate episodes of insomnia, deterioration in the sleep cycle, chronic cough and bronchitis.

4. In the long term, it can generate a psychological addiction and an increase in the risk of schizophrenia in people who are susceptible to it. It is also considered that it can increase depression, anxiety and amotivational syndrome.

I would like for it to be banned still because the smell of it it's just shit and it's stronger than a cigarette... In UK I can even smell it from someone's window...

Well, there are some people that like that smell lol

Didn't vote, because goverment shouldn't decide if nature is legal or not. Nature existed before goverment, thus nature is above goverment.

Thats a good point mate.

I think it should be legal mainly because by the same logic which prohibits use of marijuana, alcohol should be illegalized as well.

Actually, its a fact that alcohol cause more damage to the organism than marijuana

I honestly don't think we know too much about it. I cant remember of the top of my head but i believe there has only been a handfull of studies on it. We could really use some more studies on it first.

For medical yes for recrational then no, after years of "the man" telling us there is no medical benefits now they have done the test and confirmed it dose have benefits, I am glad however I feel sad for all the people that it could of helped sooner, better late than never I guess.
