Getting good requires a lot of practical experience, so if Youtube tutorials are all you've been looking at so far, I suggest jumping right
into Cinema 4D and trying everything out.
If you want to improve there is no magic way so practise, practise, practise! (I recommend you try to get comfortable with the techniques
shown in the video you watched, before moving on to the next one.)
This first video covers the complete basics, like the panels, controls, materials, simple lighting and everything you SHOULD know.
