It would be cool to have like a contest section in the forum, to get people more active. I see we have like lounges and off-topic discussion thread and that's awesome but there is not contest but the raffle.
User's that won the contest could get Credits or Awards dependent on what contest they entered. The contest would be monthly not all the time because you want to make the winner's of whatever the contest is known and appreciated.
Here are some contest suggestion if this idea is Implemented:
Biography of the Month-Telling your story the best
Photography of the Month- Who takes the best pictures
GFX of the month- Who has the best Avatar or Sig or something like that
Creative Writing of the month- Who has the best written pieces
Awards for the Contest thread can be optional but I still think it would be more inclusive with a contest thread.
The contest thread would be it's own category and not grouped together with something else
What are your thought?

RE: Contest Section As there is already a Members Contests & Giveaways section I find this hard to be implemented in its own section since these contests could be held by members if they chose to do so. There are also site wide contests such as the christmas contest where users can earn awards and more.

I understand that photo, but for contest and giveaways how many member's actually do contests alot of them do giveaways. This section would be designed for contest only. To make it more organized, that way monthly contest can be advertised.
But I guess the Member Contest and Giveaway is more generic.
But I think The giveaway and contest should be divided, but It's just one opinion against the community. Just trying to think of helpful ideas

Yeah I understand where you're coming from I just think a new section wouldn't be neccesary at the moment as there is already one designated for it. Also as you said, there isn't a high amount of member contests anyways.

Yeah I understand where you're coming from I just think a new section wouldn't be neccesary at the moment as there is already one designated for it. Also as you said, there isn't a high amount of member contests anyways.

I wish people would participate in contest though, even though leecher's and spammer's would misuse the contest section(if there was one). Cause those various contest would challenge user's to use their creativity and some user's like myself ( not trying to be self-centered or selfish) but they would enjoy those contest.
But at the same time I completely understand where you are coming from.
It's just the new user's even the old ones might benefit with a contest section, think about it with a good enough incentive it would help them. The admins have to like the idea though 
Which the likely hood of that is slim.
I've been thinking about good ways for Nulledbb as a whole to be more inclusive than we already are.

RE: Contest Section We don't have enough activity to separate the two sections at the moment. I do however try to keep that section clean and close contests/giveaways which are no longer running. If you look at it the majority of the threads are closed upon us reviewing them, I actually just cleaned it before seeing this. In line with this, I am going to deny this suggestion based on not enough activity to make this an independent section. I do thank you for the suggestion though. We don't have enough activity to separate the two sections at the moment. I do however try to keep that section clean and close contests/giveaways which are no longer running. If you look at it the majority of the threads are closed upon us reviewing them, I actually just cleaned it before seeing this. In line with this, I am going to deny this suggestion based on not enough activity to make this an independent section. I do thank you for the suggestion though.
