Cars are ok for the everyday person floating through life with minimal responsibility. However, you own a boat, have yard work, own multiple homes and can do home repair, not worried driving through ice and snow storms late at night.. then you need a truck.. I have almost 3000,000 miles on my truck now. It's used tons with life's problems
