Do you guys think Hammond/Wrecking Ball is an instant throw pick?

In current meta, yes. Hammond stands 0 chance against the Sigma/Orisa duo.

In some cases he's kind of useful. Assault maps, mainly if you're on the defending team.

If he can touch then he's been useful, ideally you could touch with Hammond in time for most of your team to get back out alive and quickly switch back to a better suited tank if they can stay alive.

Also kinda depends on the skill level. Some people just have 0 idea how to counter him. But that's at really low rank.

It depends, how good is the person playing hammond. I met alot of hammonds who just go in and die, and hammonds that actually get 3-4 picks in a team fight, so it really depends who is playing hammond.

It of course depends on the skill of the person playing, but he's also one of those characters you have to build your entire comp around. Hammond can be a great disruptor, particularly to the less mobile back line healers. He's not going to be able to frontline tank though.

On difficult maps for them they struggle but really good mains of Hammond and WB can get away with maps that are not great for them.

Personally, for me this weapon is an imba, because Im killing somehow by a strange hit at one point, it hits at all at another

agreed that it really depends on what enemy team comp is and the player's skill. most people that play at my ELO (diamond) aren't too great with him and just end up giving the enemy team tons of ult charge making our team fights even harder. not a lot of value when they just go in over and over and die.
