I think about this sometimes when pirating a movie or downloading a theme from a site like this one. It's practically stealing someone elses work. When it comes to movies they're incredibly rich as is so not as bad there but I know they're struggling more and more due to the internet. When it comes to themes then the people that made it usually depend on their themes selling to get by. I sometimes only pirate it to try it out though then later buy it.

What's your view on this?

No, I do not think it is immoral. What is immoral are these major record labels and companies stealing others work and claim it as theirs. In the film industry, the actors were paid, the scriptwriter was paid, everyone was paid and all the money that they keep earning is only pocket change that they'll use to buy another mansion that they don't need.

IMO, it's kinda immoral. I only ever use leaked content until I can purchase it and help the creator

It depends who. Take Spotify for instance, they started by using pirated Mp3's, they wouldn't be here otherwise. It really depends on who. Companies I feel is less immoral than individuals.

The music industry is changing. Music is being used as the tool to bring people to shows or sell merch to generate money in different ways. The days of paying 5$ per song or 15$ for a cassette are over.

On the flip side I still buy records for some inane reason. Tangible things are nice.
Some people are audiophiles and want higher quality downloads so they buy those versions.

Short story shorter, there is nothing immoral about listening to music whatever why you got it, as long as you kick money back to the band or owner in some way to help them continue to create more.

It really depends. Most of these companies makes more than billions of dollars. yet if everyone has this menality than we won't get movies or music. If you really want to show support for the things you love you shouldn't steal the content. it may suck if you are young and broke but it is the right thing to do unless you don't want these things anymore.

Well a lot of the logic supporting that it doesn't matter is that people who couldn't be bother to buy in the first place would most likely not even buy it at all if there was no other option to get it.

I personally don't think it's immoral, large companies get enough money, them missing out on some isn't going to effect them that much, but if I do pirate things, the vast majority of the time I buy it eventually. It is more immoral to pirate something owned by people who are struggling financially.

Could be, but the "dark side"/non-legal ways have always been available since unmemorable times. I choose to be a pirate, instead of paying for everything, I found this last idea dumb.
