Do you think mankind is heading in the right direction?

People are happier than they've ever been, but at the same time "Things used to be better in the past" is something you hear on a regular basis. What do you think about this? Maybe it says something about out innate inability to be happy about what we have.

I mean sure, but we could be much better since there is a lot of controversy going around.

I agree that we're definitely in a better time than before. 2019 > 2009/1999/1989/etc.

This is an interesting topic. I don't think you're correct in saying that people are happier than they've ever been. I think the opposite is the case, that people have never been more depressed and miserable than they are today. We humans are supposed to live in tight-knit communities with lots of social interaction, but we've been moving further and further away from that as society has modernized. It used to be that you would know all the people living in your immediate physical surroundings, but now I live in an apartment complex with 300 other people and I've never had the chance to talk to any of these people who areliving just meters away from my front door.

Yes and no. We are becoming happier at the cost of the environment and the very low class. People want too much.

Things were better in the past is those nostalgia quotes lol.

Things are definitely better now and will be from the future 100%.

To be completely honest, I feel that the end of times is here, us and our future kids are probably gonna watch the world end. Sad to say but so much has changed and dramatically changed within the last 10 years.

I think we're going through a cycle. I heard something interesting on a podcast with Tim Kennedy. He said "Easy times create soft people who create hard times which creates hard people." Being old enough to have grown up without social media until my early 30's, life was a lot easier then. I don't know how kids are going to last in this mess.
