I personally prefer flower/bud, but I will give my full take on the debate. I've been smoking/doing edibles/consuming weed for roughly 6 years now and I've found edibles and flower serve different purposes for me.

I smoke bud because it's quick, way more affordable and you can smoke it a couple different ways. I could put in a pipe, a bong, a pen or roll it up into a joint. If I want to get high fast, bud works. If I want to take my time and relax, bud also works. Do I want to hang out with some buddies? Bud works great. Another thing that draws me into bud is the different strains. Now you could say the exact same thing about edibles and yes it's a valid point, but I like inspecting the bud. Is it dense? Is it sticky? What does it smell like? Was it grown properly?(I grow my own since it's legal in Canada.) How much bud is there compared to the size of the stem?... I find that part of my smoking process is experimenting with different strains, and I feel like bud is a better way to try a strain then in edible form.

I don't necessarily have any problems with edibles, I will still eat a couple and go about whatever I was doing, but the downsides are too heavy for me. Where I live, you either make your own edibles, buy them from someone that makes them or go to the dispensary and pay way to much money for a small amount. Some of them taste fire and really get you baked, but unless I'm making my own (which I normally don't do) then I simply won't get them. I can see some advantages to edibles though, such as sneaking them into a festival or eating one if your about to go on a long drive (If your not driving of course), but with the amount that I smoke and the amount of shit I have to do normally, I don't have the time to be brain fried for a 3-4 hour period.

My overall opinion. I do not dislike edibles, and I understand they work better with certain people and can be useful to have in certain situations, but when I factor in every aspect, bud just works way better for me.

It depends, mainly I like to smoke, but when I'm with my family/on some school trip I prefer edibles cause no one can tell from smell/eyes etc.
