Here are some things I recommend.

For starters, your document. Most forums fall in the range of these dimensions:
Height: 50-60px
Width: 150-160px

Always work in the original size. Down-scaling raster based images from big images is not a great idea.
You'll lose detail, and the image will most likely become blurry.

Always have the exact HEX of the background you'll be working with. This is a must.

Green was not a good choice considering your color pallet is Grey and yellow.

The diamond looks like it was taken from Google. The glow does not help with the materialistic style you were going for.

The emboss in the text ruins the style of the userbar.

There are many things that should be fixed, but here are some golden rules I go by when I make userbars.

Quality. (Making sure everything (if possible)is made by hand. Nothing is downscaled [causing blurriness and artifacts]from the internet, etc)
Consistency. (Having the same style throughout, consistent line-work, elements that share the same "family", etc)
Hard to Replicate. (This one will take some practice and getting used to, but once you find a style and flow, your design will be harder and harder to replicate.)

Everything I've ever created was made with a mouse. I have a tablet, but mouse is better for me.
