depends on your style of work and what work you're looking to do in a specific field. a lot of people are doing acid graphics in the music world right now so those fonts are different than those you would use for corporate work

Some of my go-tos for posters and pretty much anything with type are Open Sans and Interstate. They aren't very flashy but they're simple and elegant sans serifs that do the job well. I also use them in the layout phase a lot and come back to replace them later.

For quality fonts you can start with the foundry PangramPangram, they let you try the fonts for free.
Then wander through websites like Zeta Fonts, Tomorrow Type, Velvetyne, Them Types, Type Lab, The Designers Foundry, and many more. Scroll through the gram to find the thing that you like.

My favorites are David Rudnick, Olohgram, Hide Studio, Kazuhiro AiharaandDomenico Barreto.

Hope these links gon help you.

Depends on what you need the fonts for, Google Fonts has a very large collection of fonts for many languages for general use.
