Probably the joy of doing of whatever you want, downside would be the toxic people that try and ruin your experience

DarkRP is the only good gamemode in garrys mode, well thats what I believe.

It really depends on who plays on the server and how it's run.
But yeah you get to do what you want.
It was better like three years ago, now there's a load of trash servers ran poorly.

The downsides for me are that it is too repetetive and with little or no progression system whatsoever.

DarkRP is the only gmod gamemode that gives me any joy. Although there's a couple other really neat gamemodes nothing comes close to the fun I've had on some DarkRP servers. The only downside is that due to the ever slowly decreasing playerbase, the only popular servers are trashpiles crawling with children or hyper-modded servers with a hardcore tightly-knit group of players that have reached the top of the scoreboard and just hang around on the server all day.

I still play DarkRP from time to time though and while it's not as great as it used to be it still draws me to it like an old alcoholic addiction.

RDM is annoying, and even more annoying is adverting. Why advertise you are stealing money from a bank so everyone can see?

darkrp is bad for role playing. You can try some server on Nutscript or Clockwork.
