I've been looking for a while but for every video I've watched or article I'veread for "the best" hard drives....there is always a comment about how crappy the products actually are lol

I was wondering if any of you had any personal experience buying an external hard drive, all I want it for is forstoringmy graphic assets (textures, psds, etc), fonts, and previous projects to free up some space on my in-tower HDD. I just want it to be reliable, something that wont suddenly brick on me.

if you don't need ALOT of space, finally get an SSD. they're way faster/easier to work with and (presumably) they will last longer. since they don't have moving parts, theres nothing to break.

If lots of storage is more important, recommend the Seagate 5tb HHD. Its at a good price recently. Ive never had a seagate HD break on me

As scrumtrelecent said I recommend you get an SSD. I'm getting one to replace my current driver and using it as a secondary instead to store assets and shit. I got a 2TB Samsung SSD 860 EVO for a good deal on Ebay.

Depends on how much your storing. I would recommend an external SSD if you don't have more than 2TB.

Crucial or Smasung SSDs should do the trick. They're so much cheaper now. If going with HDD, then WD or Seagates are alright.

I dont know what you read there. But there is nothing like buying an external drive. It is perfect for storing all kinds of garbage and long files. Just pick discs with good performance.
