just go to directory that you installed xampp
then open its folder and go to htdocs
then make a folder in it called i.e. mybb
then put mybb files in it and browse localhost/mybb in your browser and install mybb
it's a piece of cake :D
Oh hi

I prefer XAMPP over WAMP, but that's just personal preference. If you still need help setting up XAMPP, let me know.

IIS All the way, I just convert my .htaccess files to web.config, few tweaks with the IIS Config Manager and BOOM!

XAMPP > WAMP in all aspects.

Both need no config changes >.> Just install and done.

Copy Mybb's Upload Dir Contents to htdocs folder inside wamp or www folder inside wamp. (create a new dir if you wish to install it on a sub dir like /mybb/)

Launch XAMPP/WAMP and go to: http://127.0.0.1/mybb/ and install it.

BTW, you must create a database too, http://127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin USername: root Password: NOTHING LEAVE BLANK
Create database and use that during installation.

You should change your MySQL password before trashing the htdocs content.
