When I walk past a friend I normally just say "Hello! What's up?" or in my language: "Hei! Skjera'?"

With a simple "hello" or using something from the environment, such as "what do you think of the game?"

A smile and a "Hello, how are you?" Or "Hey, hows your day been?" goes such a long way. Try that!

Depends on the situation, if you wanna ask a cute girl out just straight up go big or go home. end it in one go. if she says no then that's that just turn 180deg and ask the next one. no need to waste time on someone that isn't interested.

Context is everything. Generally though, you can just go up to any other guy and dab him up while saying hey and relating to something you both are doing/seeing/whatever. A lot of people are really sociable, but just hate starting conversation because it definitely is the most awkward thing in the world, but by breaking through with a very informal greeting, it almost immediately opens people up.

Women are a bit harder, but they're not as alien as most guys on these kinds of forums assume they are. Just fucking say hi and relate it to whatever you both are doing/seeing/whatever.

My way of navigating these things is to just instantly establish myself as your friend. Dabbing people up and saying hi without any constraint tends to really break up barriers and I've literally made friends with people within 5 minutes just from acting as if I were already their friend.

ALSO, I just realized that "dabbing people up" probably isn't an expression used everywhere. Where I live, it's slang for like a weird type of handshake. Think of what the cholos in movies do. This Urban Dictionary entry really sums it up lmao I'm not running around dabbing on people and thinking that's still okay in 2018 (as if it were ever okay).

Hello there, having conversation is a great social activity to express yourself. Starting a conversation is easy, all you really have to do is say "hello." My favorite way to spark up a conversation in real life is to say "what's up?", "how are you doing today?", or my favorite "what do you think about the weather today?" Part of what I do for work is translate for clients and guide them in cultural etiquette. Starting a conversation with someone in an art-form. Now, if I'm here in the States, and I need to spark a conversation I'll usually start it with levity especially if it's a stranger. Break the ice as it were.
