How much should i charge for Tshirt Design?

I'm confused to put the cost of making a t-shirt design service to a client. What figure is it possible to support me for a living from freelance making design?

You'll get a broad answer. in my time ive heard $50 all the way to $3000. always depends on the reputation and who is buying it. Selling to your homie or a million dollar company needing their company picnic design? I always throw different numbers. Will they reprint the design...maybe a royalty per item sold would be the best route. Many ways on this one.

Im actually doing tshirt design (ive been focused on it for like 7 months now) im just trying to figure out how can I manage the time spent commensurate with the payment, because currently my price range is around 20 - 50 usd. if you see it may be very low if you are from the US, I'm not from the US my currency is lower that's why I can put that price.

Generally when it comes to pricing, ask yourself what value you are giving back to the client. If they’re going to make hundreds of bucks off of it, there’s a hundred in for you to make. If they’re not going to sell a single shirt, reconsider if you want the client of go cheap (since they won’t invest much unless they’re dumb asf).

only design for now.. i used to have a clothing brand back then around 2020 but now i just focused on freelance making clothing design including tech pack sum like that.

Well it depends, it's not the same to make a simple minimalistic design to a one that is illustrated or includes a lot of effects, textures and halftones.

a good question you could ask them if you really have no idea about their finances it could be "what's your budget?"
