To build sites like pinterest and twitter you need a lot of experience and it can take years to become a great developper, you wont learn to make stuff like that over night.

no one will know how much time it will take you to learn anything. It all depends on your will to learn and your focus. HTML and CSS are the easiest to learn. PHP is pretty simple also but again everyone is different. My suggestion is start out with a simple html website and usu php to create a contact form on the website. Get a succesful message sent via the contact form and you are on your way to learning more.

Thats what i did. Once i was able to create a contact form on my website i kept growing from there.

PRactice and more practice.
