I had a cat before, Her name was Precious, and she was a short-haired cat. I had a fun time with her, and personally think you should definitely get a cat.

cats are a pretty good idea as pets theyre mostly playful fun animals and theypretty much take care of them self

I think buying a cat sounds like a good idea. Especially a tabbie (they're so adorable). AS long as you're ready for the responsibilitiesof taking care of it.
