You guys can still play on beta servers, just type onlymc.ru (the only bad thing is that server is russian, so you have to translate everything)

you and me both. I miss 1.7, and every since servers stopped supporting 1.7, I've never came off 1.8

I started playing just before Beta 1.2, it was funny to play back then. I also loved playing with mods, like Technic Pack etc. Kinda miss the times :v
