So for the last 2-3 years, I started to dislike gaming more and more.
A few years ago, I enjoyed pretty much every game. The game stories were great, graphics didn't matter and it was just fun playing them for hours without getting bored.

Let's look back to a few of the games I've played.
  • Call of Duty
    • MW2 was definitely my favorite game and always will be. I spent almost 3,000 hours on it. Nowadays, COD is just shit. I think I don't need to explain why.
  • Minecraft
    • Was a fun game but got destroyed due to big servers with their hubs and minigames. I even owned a big server (200 slots which was extremely big at this time) and it was fun. Building cities with a community, trading stuff for diamonds, etc.
  • League of Legends
    • I tried this game several times, I enjoyed it, but the community pretty much ruined it for me.
  • Counter Strike
    • I'm not into CS and never will be. Fuck off
  • Rust
    • That's a game I'd enjoy, but the server wipes are just a pain.
  • Grand Theft Auto
    • That's the only game I enjoy to be honest. Except that everything costs a shit ton of money, there's nothing to complain.
  • ARK
    • Thanks for the 25 FPS
  • PAYDAY 2
    • Was fun, boring tho.
  • The Forest
    • There's seriously nothing to do in this game after 30 minutes of playing.
  • ARMA 3
    • Was fun at some point but meh.

I also currently enjoy playing Planet Coaster and Dark Souls III but I'm already getting bored of it.

Call of duty was good series. MW3 was great but after that they keep adding shits in game so i hate cod now.
CS was good before 1 year but gaben ruined by adding new stuffs and no missions. ( who need's gloves..)
GTA is awesome.
I still play Prototype 2 it's awesome.
No one can forget NFS: Most Wanted

Speaking purely based on actual popularity and objectivity then "Call of Duty" have seen massive improvements over the years, especially since they stopped with the modern era and went into more of a sci-fi setting. That setting isn't for everyone though. The problem is, "Call of Duty" cannot remain realistic without going deep into fictional territory anymore. As it has already covered the interested wars. Though the majority of people complain about the switch to a different approach of FPS then people are still buying and playing the game.

As long as they are that, the will just continue on. As even though people complain, the series have still gone out and become more popular after the switch to Sci-Fi. Also about CS... The community for that game became rotten to it's very core the day "CS:GO" released.

See I think you should consider some other games. We were talking about games last week or the week before. A few suggestions I have that may spark your interest based on either the storyline or general gameplay would be

  • Fallout Games (3, New Vegas and 4)
    • Endless hours of wandering the wastelands trying to survive on Very Hard with Hardcore Mode on)
  • Far Cry (3 and Primal)
    • You said you liked these games, Primal is going back to the beginning of time with a lot of challenges.
  • Elder Scrolls Online
    • Another Bethesda special but with a bigger twist, WoW feeling but less challenging at times.
  • Sniper Elite
    • If you are looking to challenge yourself with having patience and thinking tactically.
  • Watch Dogs
    • In general the storyline for me was awesome and also the game was great in general.
  • Slender The Arrival
    • Generally a good game and rather challenging to complete. Really worth the cheap buy.

I dunno dude, Call of Duty is only good for the Zombies side of things, this new Infinite Warfare Zombies was gash. Not much more can be said and Black Ops 3didn't have the replay value after so long to me.

Dying Light best zombie game
Witcher 3 no introduction needed
Bioshock Infinite
Rise of the Tomb Raider
The Witness - hardest puzzle game i've tried
Alien Isolation

I get bored of games after 1-2 hours but these kept me playing

Gaming has been taking a nosedive at this point. I've been into Overwatch, but even then it's on and off for me.

Its because modern games really do suck balls a lot of the time, companies are just shitting out incomplete buggy games, almost all lack a good story line.. Aoki, you need to go back in time and enjoy the older games, can get you some nice emulators :D

But yes also the above game suggestions are good choices, Skyrim especially as its mod-able, so you can do vanilla run through and then go crazy playing with mods.

I think this is a problem with complexity, more graphics, more details, more content, but still what many developers forget or fail to deliver is that people want to have fun. Sometimes i find myself having more fun playing browser games than most new hyped games of the year, this is not always the case sure.
