If you were a scientist, What would you want to find the cure for and why?

I would probably go with either cancer, aids or as Tomu said: aging. Although tricky, I am still too scared of not living long enough to see all the great things happen.

Though you could periodically release the drug to people of a cretin age because theirs no point giving it to someone who's 80 lets say.

Cancer, because there's so many forms and it affects a large portion of the population.

I would want to find the cure for autism because I feel like that'd be the best for everyone

i would find a cure for all illnesses XD a multi serum!

May I just point out that whilst what everyone may say is "cancer!", this is partly already been done.
It's just so expensive that the government can't really roll it out anywhere.
I'm not even joking and it's not even a conspiracy theory, it's a fact haha

The cure to slow down or halt the aging process would be amazing, though I wouldn't just sell this on the market it'll only be given to a select few people.

I'd find a cure for Cancer ofcourse and become rich!

If I were a scientist, I'd figure out how to cure Malaria. It's something that's killing so many innocent people near rainforests and in rural areas... and even some urban areas. It's an epidemic that nobody really knows how to solve other than chasing away some mosquitoes through the use of physical objects and nets and like spray that keeps them off you.
It'd help so many poorer countries, and people in need.

you do realise it could cost millions or even billions to cure one person? also, cancer isnt just one single disease.
