Alright so I have a little obsession for immortality, meaning you do not die, which I personally think would be great but first for this thread lets say the following occurs when immortal.

1. You never age.
Example: Become immortal at 23, stay 23 forever.

2. Your body never gets older than your age.
Example: Your 23 and look 23 for ever, you don't get grey hair etc.

3. You are immune from viruses, and diseases.
Example: You don't die of radiation, or cancer.

My Opinion - Detailed.
This is my opinion, I'm sure people will disagree but it's only my opinion and I respect all others opinions!

Personally Immortality is a good thing, a gift in my opinion as you have the chance to live forever and be able to build your knowledge so that you know the past and present in detail.
You could become an expert in every area and have time to learn more.
A downside being that you would see friends and family die around you but over time you would get over it.
Also say the Government find out you are immortal, they would want to do tests and shit which I would not like to happen to me.
I could go on but that's just some of the things that are semi-important.

What is your views on immortality? Is it a good thing or bad? a gift or a curse?

Addition
Lets say there is a cure. You have little to no knowledge of what it is and it's location. It's rare and been missing for centuries.
Finding the cure and using it will remove the immortality. First you need to find it.

Some things which you stated are good, such as you can gain knowledge in every field.

Personally, I wouldn't like to be immortal. Seeing my family and friends die around me would just destroy me. Plus, I think I'd just get bored of life. I find immortality interesting though as some friends would like to be immortal as they can see how things change. However, they all said they'd eventually get bored too. I would only like to be immortal if my friends and family were.

It's quite an interesting topic.

Perhaps but giving that you were an "on/off switch" person like myself you could easily close down the sadness of watching people die.
Think about it, you could easily move away and start a new life and meet new people and such. Maybe make some enemies as well?
Giving that we're discussing immortality I'm sure there would be other who are also immortal?

I get what you mean. If I had the ability to move from country to country I wouldn't mind being immortal, starting fresh would be good.

I find the life interesting because I will end at some point, that's why I try to enjoy al most every single moment of my life.

If I would be inmortal I will eventually become bored.

How do you know it isn't? because there has been no evidence to say so?We think we know a lot when the reality is as humans we know so little.
I believe that everything is possible, it's good to keep an open mind as it can be just what makes you a better person.

Life is a curse. You have to deal with shit all day. I sometimes just fill like killing myself, because in death there is peace. Silence, no one to give you work, you don't need to work, peace.....
