Is Bitcoin really untraceable?

It is aactually possible to trace bitcoin. The blockchain system ensure that you can see each transaction in public, but the anonymity comes from the fact that you can mine bitcoin without giving up any information about yourself.

Earlier it was like so. But in last few years authorities start a big research, based on blockchain open data. And now they can trace a transaction, but it takes a lot of resources

it is traceable through the blockchain but you'd need to dump a decent amount of time in order to trace specific transactions

Nope it's not. It's pseudo-anonymous. If you wan't something that's truly untraceable you should go for Privacy coins as e.g. Monero (pref.) or Zcash.

Most crypto currencies are made to be completely transparent. Every transaction has an official transaction address that is public where the amount, receiver and sender can be read in clear text. But you can launder the coins through multiple wallets, virtually making it impossible to trace... But in theory you can always trace it back to the original sender etc.

do you think the hackers or depweb will use it if they know it is trackable ?

Btc is traceable. But there are bitcoin mixers which can make it anonymous.

If you want you can use Bitcoin to buy Monero and either spend directly with Monero or rebuy Bitcoin. You can directly tumble your bitcoin.

Damn, whenever I see this kind of discussion I get kinda wary of starting using bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies. I guess I'm just scared of making a fool of myself or ending with someone stealing my money because I misused it or something.
