If your wallet isn't linked to you at all, it is not traceable back to you. Unfortunately it is very difficult to purchase BTC without providing some sort of ID that links it to you. I think the only option is privately buying BTC from someone in person with cash

I do believe law enforcement has their ways of tracking these sort of things however its just like withdrawing cash from your bank account rather than a check, there always will be a trace of that check but not of that cash.

Not untraceable. But sometimes. some of websites do a log from any transaction in their website.

If you do It the right way, It will be untraceable.
Short example:
You buy BTC from someone paying with Paypal(Not your real acc)/Amazon gift card etc.

Cashing out:
Find/Get a friend who lives in a country where government dont care/brideable and cash out your btc.

If you make your first cash purchase with someone, then invest in bitcoins, you really don't get re-registered.

Bitcoin is not and won't be private/untraceable in the near future and I don't think it is really necessary at the moment. There are enough alternatives that are fully, or at least somewhat, private. Monero or ARRR just to name two.

I don't sayit is impossible to make BTC private/untraceable. There are coinjoins, payjoins and, probably the best but hardest method, the lightning network. But just use something else if you want to be private. There are many easy and somewhat cheap ways to convert between cryptos.

I believe it is not registered or monitored by any government so in some respect it is but the platforms that offer the service to buy and trade may keep record.
